I have a plan in mind.
    1.  Upload 14.4 32 and 64 bit and make available for download here.
    2.  Re-brand to IWOS to avoid issues with previous PinguyOS.
    3.  Look at the latest Ubuntu and see what changed then update IWOS.
    4.  Build an IWOS version from scratch.
         a.  Keep one fork following Ubuntu.
         b.  Make version with latest kernel - this is mostly for me.

Any Ideas or suggestions?

Hi Larry.

Glad to see someone willing to push it forward.

Could you check this: http://forum.pinguyos.com/Thread-The-future-of-PinguyOS
If not check this: https://github.com/iPublicis/PinguyOS-Remix

I had no time (for now) and the knowledge to push it forward :\

I think the way is to build something that won't get the same issues stalling that PinguyOS had.

Doing 1 and 2 together is vital imo, Not so sure about the difference between 4 a and 4 b. Is it just the kernel?

FYI, there seems to be an issue with ubuntu 16.04 and 4.4 kernels on some machines. I updated a few of mine yesterday. Most went well, but one surprised me that is even boots now. It shows 7 kernels, states they are only half unpacked and will not allow update, install and freezes every 5 minutes. Fatal error is mention more than I can count, when I try auto remove or even remove them manually. When I google the error, found I was not alone. Not sure if it is driver or hardware related, but changed drivers and it did not help. For that machine, I am backing up and will re-install, then lock the kernel.

Larry,

Am here and listening. I do think Pinguy has been abandoned. I have made my own Ubuntu fork in the past
for my business and friends who wanted to leave Windows. I loaded it with almost too much, but wanted
them to have all their multimedia out of the box. I know what you are doing isn't simple.

I love the way IWLNX or Pinguy is simple and works. Even most my Windows programs work flawlessly with Wine, which is surprising.

Thanks for the efforts.

Hi Larry,

what are your ideas how to move forward? I believe 1 und 2 are done - so it is time for 3 and eventually 4.
Maybe get someone out there to review it.

How would you describe the state of it at the moment?

Thanks,
LNT

Welllllll - with Pinguy here one day and gone the next then back ..............

I started spending time on building a base system hence my SysBuilder.
It is 99% complete - about to release an alpha version.

I used it to build the base system I am now building and using - IWLNX 2.1.

I have just been working as a hobby on this as there is very little interest here
at this time.

Still plugging along (wish the Pinguy issue would sort itself out).
