Pinguy has returned - Larry - 06-08-2017

I see that after all my effort to save Pinguy that he has returned.
Problem is that I have done lots of work on a new OS.

I will have a 2.0 release soon.
I will have a SysBuilder that will build a system from scratch. (LFS base with selected UI)
I also have a section that will install all additional software to add the most useful items
that people need to get off windoz.

I have a new OSBuilder that works with most systems.

I will continue to follow Pinguy but will also support this fork.
I still want more people to work on development with me so as
not to be put in position of someone needing to step up to save the ship.
I do not want this to be a one man show.

Larry

RE: Pinguy has returned - LNT - 06-15-2017

Hi Larry,

well, do we know that Pinguy is back for sure?
It is a live sign - nothing more. He can vanish like he did before for months - so please keep up the progress here!
Glad to see a version 2.0 coming!

Thanks for your efforts!
LNT

RE: Pinguy has returned - Larry - 06-20-2017

There was a considerable push for someone to continue Pinguy.
I stepped up and found only a few people were really interested.
Now Pinguy has returned and it appears I wasted time and money.
I will keep working but not as hard as I did to keep this site and OS
alive. I guess July will be the real answer if he can get enough people
to pay to keep it alive. BTW - I did it for free did not ask for money,
guess that was the mistake as people have a bigger interest if they
pay to play.
Not feeling good about this at this time.

RE: Pinguy has returned - Kantoquad - 06-22-2017

sorry, Larry. i appreciate the work. There is no reason not to continue a fork, It is Linux of coarse. As he said, he lost the passion, so lets see.We need to get on distrowatch when ready and things will progress

And now he appears to be gone again - the forum has been down for several days.
Any ideas?

checked G plus, nada. I think it is down and out. My most clicked on bookmark for 7 years is no more

LOL, Ok, maybe 1 or 2 , got into stock trading (that is reason to go to bonds  for anyone else, I am sure I am the imminent signal of a market crash). However 3 months of success is addicting.  Big Grin  Looking forward to good things here though

Larry,

I do appreciate your efforts and will download 2.0. I do like some of the tweaks you have done with
the distro.
